Shooter Mechanism Re-design
Project type
CAD Project
Date
2024-2025
- 8 total polycarbonate shooter rollers, left and right 4 are run independently from each other by 2 Kraken XS brushless motors
- Using 5mm HTD belts in order to keep belt teeth connecting with pulley teeth while running 6,000+ RPM
- Carbon fiber infused PLA hubs for the shooter rollers, allow it to be robust and withstand the heat of spinning at such high RPM for long periods of time
- Pivoted using 1 Kraken XS brushless motor, running a 15 tooth herringbone gear on a sliced 135 tooth herringbone gear to achieve the most accurate shot possible
- Incorporates a Beam-break sensor for the robot to know where the game piece is within itself, allowing it to understand when to shoot or maneuver the game piece to a different location
- Pocketed side brackets act as the pivot brackets for the shooter as well as the elevator brackets, allowing the elevator stand up straight
- 2 Kraken XS brushless motors, geared down to 70:1 are for the actuation of the elevator
- 1 more Kraken XS brushless motor runs the 3 index rollers that can either push the game piece through to shooter in order to shoot, or eject the game piece in the opposite direction to reposition it
